Batch enrichment
Up to 100 descriptors in one call.
POST /v1/enrich/batch enriches up to 100 descriptors in one call. Use it for backfills and nightly jobs; for single transactions as they happen, /v1/enrich is simpler.
curl https://api.descriptorapi.com/v1/enrich/batch \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $DESCRIPTORAPI_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"items": [
{"descriptor": "POS 4521 CAREEM*RIDE DXB AE"},
{"descriptor": "PAYPAL *NETFLIX 4029357733", "country": "AE"}
]}'How it behaves
- Each item takes the same fields as
/v1/enrich. - Items are processed concurrently, and
resultscome back in the same order asitems, so you can match them by position. - An invalid item gets
{"error": {"code": …, "message": …}}in its place; the rest of the batch still succeeds. - Each item that returns a merchant is one billable enrichment. The whole batch is one request against your rate limit.
- If the batch has more items than your remaining monthly quota, it is rejected with
402 quota_exceededand nothing is processed.
Tips
- Send each distinct descriptor once. Most statements repeat the same merchants; deduplicate before you call and fan the results back out.
- Keep batches at 100 or fewer and run a few in parallel rather than one huge request.
